Auston takes every care and responsibility into the selection process of all faculty members in order to credibly support the prestigious Coventry University programs. It is imperative that a good mix of experience, expertise and vibrancy is made readily available in our faculties, in order to create a more dynamic and wholesome learning experience for each and every student.


Dr Sia Eng Kin

Dr Sia is our subject specialist for Engineering, Communications, Computing, and Electronics. He has a Ph.D in Semiconductor Physics from the Darmstadt University of Technology, Germany. He has two Masters degrees, one, a Master of Science in Electronic Communications from the Nanyang Technological University of Singapore, and the other, a Master of Business Administration from the University of Strathclyde, United Kingdom. His first degree was in Engineering (Electrical and Electronics) from the Nanyang Technological University of Singapore. Dr Sia has also published a book entitled "The Application Of Piezoelectric Quantum 1/f Noise Theory To Describe The Low Frequency Noise in ELO-GaN and n-GaN," (Singapore 2003, ISBN: 981-05-0060-2.) His research interest has been in the areas of developing new materials from compound semiconductors and fabricating new devices such as the GaN blue laser and white LEDs. He has also worked on various projects like Integrated Circuit (IC) designs using computer simulations. His designs have been sent to vendors for fabrication and characterization. His other interests would be in the development of global companies in Singapore, particularly in their organic setup, and business expansion strategies. During his career in the financial industry, he has also expanded his research on equities based on company fundamentals, and made recommendations to buy and sell at precise levels.



Mr Pushpanathan Veerasamy (Nathan)

Nathan has had over a decade of teaching experience in Diploma, Advanced Diploma and Degree level courses. In the past, he has had a notable career in various learning institutions such as InfoTech Computer School where he was appointed Deputy Operations manager. He liaised closely with government bodies such as SINDA (Singapore Indian Development Association), MENDAKI (Malay/Muslim Community Development) and CDAC (Chinese Development Assistance Council) as well as ITE (Institute for Technical Education) and Ministry of Education officials on the introduction of new courses. Whilst in the employment of Information Managers Pte Ltd, he was introduced to the local government secondary schools and junior colleges. He has worked with MOE (Ministry of Education) officials on the introduction of computer applications as pilot projects in public schools, which was well received. Sourcing for new clients and products from vendors as well as maintaining existing clients were but some of his other essential duties then. A Regional Training Manager with ACL services, he has trained auditors to use the ACL auditing software. Nathan holds a Masters Degree in Education (Leadership and Management) from RMIT and a Bachelors Degree in Information Technology (University of Southern Queensland).



Mr Jackson Loke

Mr Jackson Loke has more than 15 years of corporate experience in the areas of Business Development, Marketing, Training and Management Consulting. He is presently the Module Leader of Corporate strategy, a core module in Bachelor of Business Administration (Hons), in the school. His research interests include Corporate Strategy for Success, Strategies to Compete for Business Performance, and, Foreign Education in China. He has an MBA from the University of Strathclyde, UK.



Mr Venugopal Rajkumar

Rajkumar has a Bachelor of Science in Computer Application and a Masters degree in the same subject. His repertoire of experience spans from Software Development and Analysis with IT solutions to developing code for projects using VB.Net, ADO.Net, ORACLE & J2EE as well as design and development of the Robust Multi-user, Client Server Environment. As well as, distributed applications involving project analysis and design phase by applying the concept of OOAD and SDLC. He has also been a part of many successful real-time project implementations. He has accumulated 10 years of teaching experience in Information Technology both in Malaysia and in Singapore, handling UK and Australian universities' diploma and degree level computing and IT subjects.



Mr John Mateo

Mr. Mateo completed his Master of Engineering in Education from De La Salle University ¨CPhilippines, majoring in Electronics and Communications Engineering. He received his Bachelors of Science in Electronics and Communications Engineering from the University of the East ¨CPhilippines. He has spent more than 20 years in the Academe, as an Assoc. Professor and as Department Head in the Electronics and Communications Engineering Department in the University of the East-Philippines, teaching most of the professional courses in the department. He also prepared most of the lecture materials and laboratory manuals in the department. He was responsible in putting up the Computer Engineering Department and has taught most of the subjects in the department. He also taught some subjects in Information Technology Department. He had also handled tutorial and review classes for students preparing their licensure examination in engineering. He has been in Auston since December 2008 as a lecturer in Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE), handling most of the modules in Diploma, Advance Diploma and Bachelor's level. He also handles some modules in the Engineering Business Management (EBM) course. He also serves as project supervisor for EEE and EBM students doing their Final Year Project (FYP).



Ms Crystal Skerry

Crystal is from Canada. She is a remarkably talented individual who prides herself in being the best at whatever she does, especially so in the realm of language teaching. She holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology, with a minor in Sociology. Crystal is also TESOL-trained, and has worked as an Instructional Assistant, tutor and volunteer for many years. Her experience with international students has earned her quite a reputation for being the most jovial and candid teacher around!



Ms Valentina Widyastuti

With a vast repertoire of volunteer work experience, Valentina is certainly one who never shies away from a challenge. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies from the much renowned Gadjah Mada University in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. She specializes in Film Studies and is also a certified TESOL trainer. An ardent fan of discourse in academic matters and otherwise, she has won several awards in debates and is currently leading the helm for the Business English program in Auston.



Mr Thomas Lim

Thomas is an MBA holder in Strategic Marketing, and was trained in the USA in "Theme Parks and Attractions Management". Upon his return, Thomas worked with International Theme Parks (Singapore), assuming the responsibility of Park Operations. Thomas was also actively involved with the Association of Singapore Attractions (ASA) and was one of the 12-board members for the Association of Singapore Attractions for more than five years. He has been a lecturer for more than 5 years under the University of Wollogong and Edith Cowan University (Australia) programme for several Private Education Organisation in Singapore. Thomas is currently teaching modules related to Diplomas in Resort Management (CDIP-Bilingual Programe).



Mr James Boey

James Boey was trained in electronics engineering and had worked for various MNC's including AMD (Advanced Micro Devices), Hitachi and Silicon System. He obtained his Bachelor degree from RMIT (Australia) and MBA degree from University of Leicester (UK). His professional experiences include areas from production, purchasing, business development, sales, marketing, finance and administration. As the CEO of a group of companies in Penang, he won the Enterprise 50 and Emerging SMI Awards in 2003 in Malaysia. He was also the Marketing Director of a KLSE-listed company before returning to Singapore in 2005. As an entrepreneur, he was involved in the startup of two companies. Out of a passion for teaching, he joined Auston this year and currently lectures in the areas of business management, business strategy, organizational behavior, marketing, new venture management and entrepreneurial management.



Ms Le Le Yi

Ms Le Le Yi completed her Master of Engineering majoring in Communication and Network Engineering from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore . She completed her master of Engineering in Electronic Engineering from the Yangon Technological University, Myanmar. She received her first degree in Bachelor of Engineering (HONS) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the Yangon Institute of Technology, Myanmar. She has more than 16 years experience in academic field, especially in technical education, project management, and research and development in several areas in Electrical and Electronic Engineering. She has successfully conducted her lectures in government technological universities for undergraduate and graduate programs, international diploma and Advanced Diploma in Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering and Mechatronic Engineering.



Ms Lakshmi

Lakshmi has great interest in Multimedia, Info-Comm Technology and lecturing. Lakshmi has been a Content Development Manager, Academic Head for Digital Media and Communication department and has taken leadership on academic programmes from diploma to degree courses. She has also acquired relevant experiences in liaising between universities on course development matters.



Mr Wildy Chia

Wildy has completed the ACCA Professional examinations and is an affiliate of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, UK since 2006. At present, he is pursuing his Masters degree in Business Administration from The University of Manchester, UK. In terms of work experience, he has been working in the audit field for some years, before joining the lecturing profession. He had previously taught accounting and finance subjects for other diploma programmes, prior to joining Auston. He will be covering the areas of business, finance and accounting.



Mr Vincent Wong

Vincent obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration from the National University of Singapore and Master of Information Technology from Queensland University of Technology. He joined Housing and Development Board as an Assistant Estate Officer (General Administration) upon graduation. In 1984, he obtained a Certified Diploma in Accounting and Finance from the Association of Certified Accountants. He worked in the IT industry in various multinational companies for more than ten years in various positions; Senior Software Engineer, IT Specialist and System Engineer. He is experienced in mainframe, Unix and PC platform in different programming languages and data base management systems. In 1988, he joined the Bank of Tokyo and was involved in projects relating to Inward/Outward Remittance, Direct Debit/Credit operations. Two years later, he was a team member in applications for Letter of Credit, Reinvoicing in Sony Systems Design International Pte Ltd. He took part in the Human Resource and Payroll system project when Phillips Singapore outsourced its IT operation to Origin. In 1999, he joined Singapore Polytechnic as a lecturer to teach modules such as Web Services, Internet Programming, Web Animation and Supply Chain Management. While in polytechnic, he worked as a part-time Bachelor of Business lecturer for Curtin University and Middlesex University in its Master of Science program. In 2006, he taught at Hong Kong University School of Professional and Continuing Education.



Ms Aneetha

Ms Aneetha has audit experience with one of the Big four accounting firms, and lecturing experience with several PEOs, covering a range of Business, and Hospitality and Tourism courses and modules. She has extensive experience in lecturing foreign students, and is delighted to be able to pursue her career where her passion lies. She also has experience in planning and organizing events, and staging dramas and musicals. Ms Aneetha has also worked with the less fortunate for a substantial part of her career, and takes great passion and pride in it.



Jessie Samuel

Jessie is a certified TESOL-trained teacher who has experience teaching all levels of ESOL. She has also taught foreign students in primary preparatory Maths and Science classes to help them prepare to enter the local schools here. Jessie has an overseas degree in Medical Technology ( B.Sc in Medical Technology- USA) and one of her passions in life is to teach English to speakers of other languages. She loves the creativity involved in teaching the language. Jessie has also contributed short write-ups to our newsletter, highlighting the class outings her students have been to. One of her interests is to get to know the lives and sensibilities of people from other countries.
