  This module aims to provide students with an opportunity to apply and develop their research skills and to extend their knowledge, understanding and critical faculties to a specialist area of interest. The student will choose an academic area related to their programme of study, and apply their independent learning skills to research this area in some significant depth.

  It designed to give students an appreciation of how to carry out business research projects; how to structure them; what methods exist to gather and analyse data and how to present their results. An important aspect of this module is the emphasis on developing students' ability to become independent learners, and to reflect on, and evaluate the research processes that they adopt.
• 321BSS Business Strategy--- 321BSS Business Strategy ---
  
  The aim is to provide students with an understanding of strategic decision making. To this end, the module critically examines techniques available to companies aiming to develop sustainable competitive advantage in their industry.
• 357FIN Financial Management--- 357FIN Financial Management ---
  
  The overall aims of this module are to make students aware of the scope and nature of the financial management function, and enable them to assess situations and data for the purpose of making appropriate recommendations and decisions. Underlying the entire module will be the relationship between risk and the rate of return.
• 350FIN Investment Analysis--- 350FIN Investment Analysis ---
  
  This module provides students with an understanding of the characteristics and relative merits of bond and equity financial investments and develops their ability to evaluate different investment strategies.
• 351FIN Financial Derivatives--- 351FIN Financial Derivatives ---
  
  This module provides student with an understanding of the nature and purposes of financial derivatives. By the end of the module, students should have acquired the ability to use and to critically evaluate derivative instruments. The use of financial futures and options in the context of portfolio management will be a particular focus.

Degree Programme Entry Requirements

Applicants to be considered for the Bachelor Degree programme must normally hold:

• Related Business & Finance Advanced Diploma from Auston Institute of Management, or
• Polytechnic Related Business Diploma, or
• Related Business Diploma and Advanced Diploma from recognised institutions
• Professional Certificate from recognized institutions.

Notes:

Mature candidates (>25 yrs) and exceptions to the above will be considered on an individual basis.

Applicants whose first language is not English must achieve an English Language Proficiency of CEFR C1, Anglia Preparatory English Course Proficiency Level or equivalent.

Admission to various entry levels is subject to final approval from the awarding institution/university.
