This degree has a practical emphasis to prepare you for a career in computer security. You’ll study abuses of digital technology and learn the skills needed to investigate them. You’ll also complete exercises in computational theory and learn to interpret complex scenarios and explain them to non-specialists. You’ll understand how computer systems are designed and secured, and learn how to protect them against all kinds of attacks. Your studies will also cover effective computer systems management and how to complete an effective IT health check.

It’s not easy to juggle job & studies but the lecturers has been helpful & accommodating. The non teaching staff have been helpful in attending to my needs too. Therefore I’m extremely happy with the education & service that Auston is offering me.

Career Opportunities

The market for cybersecurity experts continues to increase as our society’s reliance on and deployment of Information Technology infrastructures expands. Along with this growth though is an increased risk of security breaches and a need to prevent and recover from them. This paints a promising picture for cybersecurity careers – and for the institutions that give people the knowledge, training and credentials to prove their preparedness for the challenges the field faces.

Career paths for those intending to take advantage of the increase in job demand include (but not limited to):

Test/ examinations, coursework assignments, presentations and dissertation.

Entry Requirement

Applicants aged 19 years or older are eligible to enter the top-up degree programme with one of the following qualifications:

  • A relevant Auston Institute Diploma
  • Singapore government Polytechnic Diploma in relevant fields
  • NQF Level 4 qualification
  • Relevant equivalent qualification from recognised institutions
  • Non-related Diploma will be assessed on a case-by-case basis

Applicants whose first language is not English or whose previous qualification was not taught and assessed in English must provide evidence of attainment in English Language by achieving an IELTS 6.0 or an equivalent qualification.

*All applications are subjected to the approval of De Montfort University

Course Fees

Tuition Fees

The tuition fee covers university registration, admin fee, tuition fee, study guides and textbook. Auston Institute absorbs FPS and Medical Insurance fee.

  • Programme fee for full-time: From SGD 16,650
  • Programme fee for part-time: From SGD 16,650

Non-tuition fees:

Non-refundable application fees are as follows:

  • Application fees for Singaporean/ PR: SGD 100
  • Application fees International Student: SGD 250

* All prices are subject to 7% Goods & Services Tax (GST).
* Medical Insurance is excluded for part-time students.
* All fees are subjected to change annually.
