Modules In This Course

Computer Architecture and Network Implementation*

Any student intending to work as an IT system administrator will most likely begin their career troubleshooting PCs and Networks. This module covers that application as well as adapting that understanding to the cloud and how a ‘computer’ becomes an instance.

Virtualization 1

Virtualization is the basis of making the most out of computer hardware. It massively simplifies the management of complex systems. This module explores the solution that are being offered by VMWare – and could be the starte of attaining VCA-DBT certificate.

Forensics and Security Management*

There is an ever-growing number of cyber-security vacancies in the world. Today, an IT system administrator will be expected to understand the pitfalls of user behaviour, and also design test and educational projects to reduce the cyber-risk of your organization.

Introduction to Programming

Coding translates instructions to electronics . There are many languages out there but few engineers stray far from the core of the C-language. This will cover the basics, through to data, input and output, control, arrays, and database language.

Project Management

Companies are now becoming more project-based than ever and people are expected to lead or function as part of a project team. This module will provides the skills and covers a wide variety of tools that every young technical profession should know, from conceptualization to closure of any projects.

Virtualization 2

This will introduce the concept of bare metal hypervisors and the creation of virtualized servers for windows, and linux. This module also touches on redundancy-protection systems as well as virtualization networks.


Students undertake an internship at the end of this first course to ensure that they have a strong understanding of the demands of the work place. Internships are recommended to take place in Singapore and should last between 4 and 6 months.


Micro-Controllers, Sensors and Actuators

This module will Introduce the Arduino Micro Controller . This may no be exactly the same from the industry standard but it’s a great versatile piece of kit to start with. Attach it to sensors and actuators to learn how to make prototypes.

Artificial Intelligence

An optional module – Artificial Intelligence is a fast growing area of expertise and the process of building simple models and testing them will be a core skill that will be useful to tech-workers in the next phase of development.

Blockchain Development

Blockchain takes the responsibility away from the one and gives it to anyone who is willing to accept it. Understanding how blockchain works will open up students to democratized systems and will set them up for a greater understanding of headless networks.

Career Opportunities

Work closely with sales and pre-sales team to ensure installation or implementations is done in accordance to customer’s requirements and schedule;

Recommend, configure and supporting software/hardware products to meet customer needs;

Respond to phone support requests from partners and customers on products and provide on-site or remote support;

Gather problem descriptions, log files, configuration and analyse them in order to determine root cause of problems and finding solutions;

To be responsible for problem ownership and when necessary to escalate issues to the correct technical or managerial level to ensure all customer problems are resolved in a short timescale

  • Provide pre-sales technical support to sales account manager throughout sales cycle to achieve business objectives.
  • Generate technical network proposals based on technology and our product and solution recommendation.
  • Conduct technical solution presentation, product update and technical training.
  • Perform Proof of Concept (POC) testing and solution evaluation.
  • Offer technical consultancy and advice to customers
  • Work with post-sales team to ensure solution is delivered as proposed
  • Assist in analysis of business requirements into system
  • Develop technical specifications, coding, implementation, integration, documentation and user guide according to agreed standards
  • Maintenance, support and ensure necessary changes are implemented and documented
  • Involve in system integration testing and user acceptance testing
  • Provide user and system support during and post implementation
  • Maintain allocated applications by trouble-shooting problems and providing effective solutions
  • Participate in projects, feasibility studies and functional analysis with a focus on migrating existing applications to a Cloud Computing platform

Graduation Requirements

Students must successfully complete all modules unless granted a compensation pass, or module exemptions.

Minimum Age
18 years of age in the year of application

Minimum Academic Qualifications

– Auston Foundation Certificate Programme; or

– GCE ‘A’ Level with 3 passes; or

– A polytechnic of PEI Diploma from non-relevant major; or

– 12 years of formal education (including standardized tests)

Transfer Applicants

Transfer applicants with other equivalent qualifications based on Singapore criterion may be given exemptions on academic qualifications

Mature Candidates

At least 30 years of age and 8 years of working experience may be admitted on a case by case basis with a minimum of 10 years of formal education and certificates that is deemed equivalent by the Academic Board.
