Graduation and Progression

Mechatronics is a somewhat new field of study since the emergence of advanced robotics, machine-to-machine communication, and artificial intelligence. However, when explored further it is really a converging of two traditional areas of study – electronics and mechanics.

This course provides learners with the prerequisite knowledge to proceed on to the final year degree in mechatronics.

This course will cover similar topics to electronic engineering such as analogue signals, digital signals, programming, instrumentation and controls, but also the basics like computer architecture and micro-controller technology and robotics.

Course Delivery

Lectures, tutorials, seminars, example workshops, outside speakers, computer-based learning packages, group discussion and presentations and student centered learning
