There’s a myth that every construction job involves manual labor—not true. There’s also a myth that they don’t earn alot of money. This occupation disproves that. In 2011, construction managers’ average salary was just shy of USD 95,000, putting them in a higher pay bracket than some computer systems analysts and civil engineers*.
To become the professional responsible for planning and budgeting a construction project, you’ll most likely need a bachelor’s degree in construction science or a related field.

What will I learn


pon programme completion, students in Diploma in Construction Project Management will be able to comprehend the impact of choice of construction methods and materials on important issues including health and safety; sustainability and the environment.

You will be able to focus on architectural, structural and environmental design considerations, and the need to recognise the influence of cost in the process.
You will cover the fundamental methods, systems and materials used in construction as well as experience the daily activities of an individual in the role of a construction project manager. And lastly, you will have an idea of the environment in which contractual obligations are fulfilled in the construction project management environment.

What you should know

Graduation and Progression

Students will be awarded with Diploma in Construction Project Management by Auston Institute upon completion of the programme.

Mode of Delivery

Lectures, tutorials, seminars, example workshops, outside speakers, computer-based learning packages, group discussion and presentations and student centered learning.

Entry Requirements

Applicants aged 18 years or older are eligible to enter the Diploma programme with one of the following qualifications:

  • A Levels (GCE, GCSE, CIE or EDEXCEL); or
  • Auston’s Foundation Certificate Programme; or
  • 12 years of formal education
  • Mature Candidates: may be admitted on a case to case basis with a minimum of 10 years of formal education and certification that is deemed equivalent by the institute’s Academic Board. Additional measures may be taken to ensure the candidates suitability to the programme.

Applicants whose first language is not English or whose previous qualification was not taught and assessed in English must provide evidence of attainment in English Language by achieving an IELTS 5.5 or an equivalent qualification.

Course Fees

Tuition Fees

The tuition fee covers university registration, admin fee, tuition fee, study guides and textbook. Auston Institute absorbs FPS and Medical Insurance fee.

  • Programme fee for full-time: SGD 7900
  • Programme fee for part-time: SGD 6200

Non-refundable application fees are as follows:

  • Application fees for Singaporean/ PR: SGD 100
  • Application fees International Student: SGD 450

* Medical Insurance is excluded for part-time students.
